I don't think I have to explain why Yo La Tengo is a fucking awesome band. If you don't know why, well, you should just do some research. Start by getting this compilation album, entitled "Prisoners Of Love (A Smattering Of Scintillating Senescent Songs 1985-2003)". The first two discs are a best-of and the third disc is a compilation of outtakes and rarities, fittingly entitled "A Smattering of Outtakes and Rarities 1986–2002". Their sound ranges from 10 minute shreddy jams to cute (sometimes quite sad) indie-pop, but they never fail to impress.
